REDISCOVERING THE ORIGINS OF ARTS
The Mugello valley is a land of art and beauty.
It was the place of origin of the Medici family and also the favorite for their country residences, some of which belong today to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Moreover, in this gentle valley were born some of the most influential and revolutionary artists of the Florentine Renaissance: Giotto di Bondone, Beato Angelico and Andrea del Castagno.
This is an artistic consciousness devoted to the beauty that even today, in the Mugello valley, animate the passion and the expertise of numerous artists, artisans and intellectuals. The art and the beauty that make the Mugello valley a source of inspiration.
Accompanied by a master craftsman and a multilingual guide, you can trace the origins of Florentine art and discover the artist in you, attending a workshop in one of several art and craft studios in Mugello with all the necessary material available.
Among different workshops, we propose:
Forming and working with clay
Slab and coiling methods, techniques of potter’s wheel and modeling clay (modeling requires a lesson at least 8 hours).
Minimum duration: 4 hours

(It’s not possible to deliver the cooked item at the end of lesson, unless otherwise formally requested with its extra pay shipping costs)
Decoration
Decoration techniques on raw enamel (Majolica) or underglaze (Mezza Majolica).

(It’s possible to deliver the cooked item at the end of lesson, provided that the lesson is taken at the beginning of the stay of the participants, because the cooking is three days)
Creative Recycling: How to give new life to old things...
Starting from simple materials of recovery, such as for example driftwoods collected on the banks of rivers, iron wires, wool, cloth, cardboard and so on, you learn to make small sculptures, everyday objects or jewelry crafts.

(The works created by the participants will be delivered to them at the conclusion of the course)
