Description
The Podere rises in the heart of Montagnola Senese, just 15 km/9 miles far from Siena and 75 km/47,5 miles far from Florence, among the greenery of age-old oaks, holm-oaks and chestnut-trees.
It is an ideal place to take a relaxing holiday far from the city din, among the peace of the country, in contact with an endless cultural heritage within a stone's throw from the sea and the most important Tuscan cities of art.
Thanks to its high position (500 mt./1640 ft. above sea level) you will enjoy a well-aired summer suitable for walks in the nearby woods, crossed by several paths, catching sight of charming landscapes, lots of medieval villages and Romanesque parish churches.
ACCOMMODATION:
the building is composed of a mansion built in 1840 during the Gran Duke Leopoldo II of Tuscany's reign, that has been recently restored, without altering its original characteristics.
The outside fronts have maintained their originality, while inside the building, most part of the ancient hand-crafted brick floors has been restored, as well as the ceilings with their old wooden beams that had been blackened by the smoke of the mantelpieces, which were once the only source of heating; the old irregular walls and the arched ceilings have been preserved, too.
The old forniture makes the place comfortable and charming, respecting the ancient rural Sienese traditions.
The place is particularly sunny thanks to a wide natural meadow that lays south of the building, alternating with the woods, and that is at the guests' disposal.
The building is divided into two indipendent apartments, all of which have private outside areas.
1^ APARTMENT:
of about 70 m2 is on the ground floor and has a characteristic entrance that leads directly to the kitchen. It also has two double rooms. Each room is equipped with a private bathroom, one with a whirpool bath and the other with shower for Turkish bath, chromotherapy, whirlpool.

A wide stone staircase goes to the upper floor where there are two double bedrooms, one of which has a private toilet, two single bedrooms, where it is possible to put an extra bed, and two bathrooms.
3^ APARTMENT:

A large stone staircase goes from the arcade to the upper floor leading to a wide portico, furnished with sofas, which is at the guests' disposal as reading area or as an open-air dining room, with a view on the natural meadow and on the age-old oaks and holm-oaks.
Here there are two entrances to the apartment. The front entrance opens directly on a wide living room where you can find a large mantelpiece with two chestnut-wood benches inside, a table in the centre of the room, two sofas, a small cooking area, a wide ancient travertine sink, some pieces of forniture, satellite TV.
On the left side of the room there's the entrance to a gangway that leads to three pleasantly furnished double bedrooms, all of which have a private toilet, while from the right side of the central room a gangway goes to the other two double bedrooms, which have both a private toilet, and to the kitchen with cooking area and dining room. The door in the kitchen leads again to the portico.
During low season it is possible to divide the apartment into two parts: the first (composed of the living room with mantelpiece, cooking area and three double bedrooms with private toilet) and the second (composed of the dining room, cooking area, two double bedrooms with private toilet), that will share the outside portico.
