Description
The Castle is located in the Mugello Valley, in a panoramic position on the Bilancino Lake. It is a really luxurious villa in the Tuscan countryside, it was owned by the noble Ubaldini Family around 1250.
The Castle is depicted in maps between 1582 and 1586 as a small circle of walls with door topped by a tower and a building inside the perimeter of the walls.
We can be assumed that the building was a community of some importance.
The inside church of San Jacopo, rebuilt in 1334, and the Castle, were bought by the Marquis Ottavio Gerini in 1611.
Then, the castle, was rebuilt with medieval architecture by Carlo Gerini and it was used as a school and convent.
Now , it is the ideal solution for events with beautiful halls , recently restored.
